How does Firstrade make money?

Firstrade makes money primarily from interest generated on its credit balances and margin balances, similar to how a bank makes interest on deposits and mortgage income. Firstrade also receives income through routing venues and shares execution income. More information on this can be found in our SEC Rule 606(a) & 607 Disclosure. Although we do share execution income with our routing venues, that revenue is used to cover our operating costs to improve your trading experience.

Where does Firstrade route orders?

We detail our order routing partners and other details in compliance with SEC Rule 606(a) .
